Dear Parish Family,

It is with great joy that I share the news that His Eminence Joseph Cardinal Tobin has designated the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart as one of four special pilgrimage sites in the Archdiocese of Newark for the upcoming Jubilee Year 2025 “Pilgrims of Hope”, which begins on December 24, 2024.

On December 29, 2024, at the Noon Mass, Cardinal Tobin will formally open the Jubilee Year for our local Archdiocese at the Cathedral.

The Cathedral staff is working diligently to plan and create opportunities for devotions and prayers for all pilgrims when they visit. An Aid program will be published soon.

Let us prepare our hearts for this time of grace, renewal, and deeper union with the Lord and one another.

PILGRIMS OF HOPE - Monthly Adoration Nights

  • Every 1st Saturday of each Month / Cad 1er sabado del Mes

    • These evenings will offer an opportunity for prayer and adoration before the blessed sacrament. The sacrament of confession will be available. A monthly guest speaker will present a reflection leading participants to go deeper into the call to be Pilgrms of Hope this Jubilee year.

      • January 4th “Finding Hope in the Jubilee Year”

      • February 1st - “FIAT: Celebrating the Gift of Life” (Baby items will be collected that evening to be donated to Mercy House”

      • NO Adoration Night in MARCH / NO habra Adoración en MARZO

OPEN DOORS

  • WEEKLY on WEDNESDAYS 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM / TODOS LOS MIERCOLES de 1 pm a 4 pm

    • The Cathedral will be open for visitation and prayer EVERY WEDNESDAY
