Thursday of the Fourth Week of Lent

Thursday of the Fourth Week of Lent (April 3)

  • Readings:

    • First Reading: Exodus 32:7–14

    • Psalm: 106(105):19–20, 21–22, 23

    • Gospel: John 5:31–47

Reflection
While Moses intercedes for a people who have strayed by worshiping the golden calf, Jesus urges His listeners to believe in His testimony, supported by the Father and the Scriptures. Lent reminds us of our tendency to build “idols” when we lose sight of God. Which idols—material possessions, selfish habits—might be distancing you from the one true God? Ask the Lord for a free heart, ready to hear and receive His Word.
